Meet the Panel

Dr Beverley Vaughan joined the Arise Innovation Hubs as Director in June 2021, with over 20 years’ experience in the healthcare and life sciences sector. With roles in Stevenage Bioscience Catalyst (SBC), Cell and Gene Therapy Catapult (CGT) and the University of Oxford in programme manager and director level positions, Beverley is leading on strategy, fund raising and partnering activities.

Julian Gibbs works for the Research and Innovation Development Office at Anglia Ruskin University, where he creates and manages partnerships between ARU and public, private and third sector organisations in the fields of Business and Law, including consultancy services, knowledge transfer, contract research and other collaborative projects. Before joining Anglia Ruskin, Julian worked extensively in the third sector, working for the National Day Nurseries Association, YMCA Thames Gateway, and Victim Support, in the field of business development

Melanie Davidson is Chief Executive Officer of Medilink Midlands, the life sciences industry association that helps life sciences companies to establish, develop, and grow, through business support, connectivity, and collaboration. Melanie has been with Medilink Midlands for thirteen years, starting out as an Innovation Project Manager before becoming Chief Operating Officer and then Chief Executive Officer.

The funding has been received from Essex County Council, in support of their 10-year strategy to grow the life science, DigiTech, advanced manufacturing and engineering sectors. Leading to more opportunity, jobs and growth across Essex.
