Dr Beverley Vaughan, Director of Arise Innovation Hubs said,

“As we grow our ecosystem it will facilitate the convergence of traditionally successful sectors in the region, such as advanced manufacturing and ICT, with the health and MedTech clusters to drive new innovations through access to funding, one to one business support and specialist events. Ultimately leading to the creation of new products, services and secure jobs.”

Anglia Ruskin University’s research and innovation pillars in ‘Health, Performance and Wellbeing’, ‘safe and inclusive communities’ and ‘sustainable futures’ can ensure local innovators have access to expertise, skills and talent. Safeguarding our innovation pipelines to remain buoyant and supported by programmes such as ABOVE.

The funding has been received from Essex County Council, in support of their 10-year strategy to grow the life science, DigiTech, advanced manufacturing and engineering sectors. Leading to more opportunity, jobs and growth across Essex.

Arise are working closely with partners Medilink Midlands, a specialist provider of support to the life science sector; to help SMEs overcome barriers to growth in the delivery of ABOVE. This will include specialist interest groups, one-2-one business support sessions and our innovation support grants, cumulating in the first Arise conference in 2024.
