Arise Harlow celebrates its first anniversary

Arise Innovation Hub is celebrating a successful year since the launch of the Arise Harlow Hub in March 2022. Situated on the brand-new Harlow Innovation Park in Essex, the Arise Harlow Hub is filled with state-of-the-art facilities, collaborative breakout spaces, and is a pathway for budding businesses to connect with like-minded innovative entrepreneurs.

The hub has seen a flurry of activity over the last year. It hosted the first in-person East of England UKSPA meeting, where speakers from across UKSPA and Arise Innovation Hubs discussed current challenges and new sector developments. Alice Reeve, CEO of Hethel Innovation, concluded the event with a round table during which local entrepreneurs and small businesses shared the issues they are facing and discussed potential solutions based on shared experiences.

Arise has also partnered with Pioneer Group to run a series of Commercialisation Workshops, providing vital information to entrepreneurs wishing to learn more about best practice tools and techniques to explore their own health and wellbeing start-up. The workshops came to a close with a successful networking session held at our Arise Innovation Hub in Harlow, attended by delegates from the local council and business owners.

The hub itself launched monthly networking coffee mornings, giving the occupants the opportunity to connect with other residents, and meet local businesses.

Arise Innovation Hubs have also launched a new coworking space for small businesses in the Health, Performance and Wellbeing sectors. This is a collaborative space that offers smaller businesses a professional working environment, whilst gaining access to the Arise ecosystem and the vital networks it offers.

Team Gene originally joined Arise as a virtual occupant in August 2021. They specialise in examining nutrients and their relation to supporting strenuous exercise. They have been so successful they have now grown into benefitting from working from their own coworking suite. Karen from Team Gene tells us,

‘Recently Arise have helped me to “step-up” into an office, allowing me to work in their coworking space. By moving into the building, I can already see how I can collaborate with a few of the existing occupants…’

The Arise Innovation Hub in Harlow is easily accessible, with excellent connections into London and the East of England. With the relocation of Public Health England to the town and large organisations like Raytheon and Arrow taking up residence, Harlow is fast becoming a premium business location, with a unique opportunity for innovation and growth.

At Arise Innovation Hubs we want to support businesses and turn them into something great. Our mix of student talent, academic expertise, business and innovation support means that we are perfectly placed to do so.
