Our Integrative Strategies for Functional Health and Performance hub is led by Associate Professor Dr Sanjoy Deb.

Vision

The hub’s vision is to lead pioneering research in holistic approaches aimed at enhancing human performance, health, and well-being. We prioritise collaborative partnerships with external stakeholders and the cultivation of interdisciplinary teams.

By blending traditional research methods with innovative approaches, our aim is to support individuals in achieving their athletic goals, managing health complexities, and improving their overall quality of life. Our strategic focus on forming partnerships with external organisations and fostering interdisciplinary collaborations reflects our commitment to addressing multifaceted challenges and advancing transformative research and innovation across the functional health and performance landscape.

Mission

Our mission is to:

  • Conduct innovative research that explores integrative strategies for enhancing human performance, health, and overall well-being.
  • Engage in outreach activities to raise awareness and facilitate the adoption of evidence-based interventions for improving human performance and health outcomes.
  • Foster interdisciplinary collaboration by bringing together experts from various fields such as biomechanics, physiology, psychology, nutrition, and exercise science.
  • Establish strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, including healthcare institutions, sports organisations, third-sector charity organisations, and community groups.
  • Translate research findings into practical applications by developing evidence-based interventions and solutions.
  • Aim to optimise athletic performance, enhance clinical outcomes, and contribute to the overall improvement of quality of life for individuals across diverse populations.

We have five pillars, including:
