Our students are becoming more and more concerned for the environment and how they can become future leaders in sustainability.
A study by the Higher Education Academy (HEA) and the National Union of Students (NUS) found that 80% of students believe that sustainable development should be actively promoted and incorporated by UK universities – as it is at ARU, with Education for Sustainability embedded in the curriculum.
ARU Students' Union is focused on transforming students’ voices into positive change.
Through the Plan G initiative, the team actively encourages our students to develop their understanding of sustainability and consider their impact on the environment. They also engage with students on the aspects of sustainability that are most important to them, and encourage them to make practical changes to their lifestyle – both now and in the future.
Our Students' Union has taken part In the Green Impact awards since 2007, and was proud to achieve the Gold Standard in 2015-16.
