Improve your knowledge and awareness of common respiratory conditions, improving efficiency in practice and quality of life for sufferers.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is a common, preventable and treatable disease. COPD symptoms include dyspnoea, decreased functional ability and exacerbations, which are particularly debilitating for sufferers (BLF, 2006). COPD results in high numbers of emergency hospital admissions, yet many of these can be avoided though improved disease management (Tian et al, 2012).
Asthma is a common respiratory condition that results in variable airflow obstruction. Associated symptoms are wheeze, breathlessness, chest tightness and cough.
The prevalence of asthma in the UK is one of the highest in the world. You’ll improve your knowledge and awareness of asthma management, including an overview/update of the latest inhalers available and this will improve efficiency and quality of life for sufferers.
