It's also a stepping stone onto the higher-level Cisco certifications.
Learn the basics of routing, switching, and advanced technologies to prepare for the CCENT and CCNA certification exams, networking related degree programs, and entry-level careers.
You’ll become confident in describing and understanding networking concepts and Hands-on labs and Cisco® Packet Tracer simulation-based learning activities help students develop critical thinking and complex problem solving skills.
There are four CCNA modules and you'll complete a Cisco CCNA module per semester:
Make the most of multimedia learning tools, including Cisco® Packet Tracer simulation-based learning activities, videos, games, and quizzes while you improve skills in critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, and the practical application.
Studying from anywhere in the world, you’ll be given remote access to the curriculum and our online network laboratory, NETLAB. We’ll support you through the Cisco NetSpace® learning environment and Cisco Webex.

You’ll need a minimum of 5 GCSEs including a science subject or a minimum of 2 years IT related work experience.
You’ll also need access to a computer with broadband (or equivalent) access for study purposes as the course materials are online.
You should be prepared to study at least 4 to 6 hours a week for this course.
