Distance learning, part-time undergraduate (2-4 years)
September
Intermediate award: CertHE
Develop your skills while continuing to work in your current health and social care role. Our web-based learning environment means you can study from anywhere, at any time, over the course of three to four years. On graduation, you could do one further year to top-up to a full BSc (Hons) degree.
To be accepted onto this course, you’ll already be working in a health and social care setting. This means you’ll use this course either to develop your skills so that you can apply for more senior roles, or extend your existing skills in your current leadership or management role.
What you learn will be applied to the health and social care setting, but you’ll develop a wide range of transferable skills which will be attractive to employers in many other sectors.
This course has close links with NHS trusts, independent sector health and social-care providers, and the armed forces.
If you’d like to go on to further study when you graduate, you can apply for our top-up course which leads to a full BSc (Hons) degree in Management and Leadership in Health & Social Care. After that, you could go on to do postgraduate study, such as a Master’s degree.
Throughout the course, we’ll use a range of assessment methods to help you and your tutors measure your progress on each module. These will include reports, presentations, essays, portfolios and reflection.
You’ll adapt your assignments to your own role in the workplace, which will help you meet your own professional and personal needs.
Please note that you will need to complete all of the above core modules. This course does not have any optional modules. Modules are subject to change and availability.

Our Faculty is teeming with expertise and primed to meet the demand for creating health professionals, teachers, doctors, scientists and educators for the three districts we serve: Chelmsford, Cambridge and Peterborough.
We have been training undergraduates for professional roles for over 25 years, with a reputation for quality, dedication and ambition balanced with student satisfaction.
We know that to give our students the very best experiential learning, prior to getting into the workplace, simulation is second to none, for safe, realistic, learning environments. We have invested heavily in purpose built simulated wards, science labs and skills space, to support our students through their learning.
