You’ll receive an email from your Admissions Tutor telling you when your course induction will take place and how to access it, so look out for an email from

Your course induction will take place online on Canvas (our learning management system), so whether you’re studying your course on campus or online for the first trimester, you'll receive all the information you need to get started.

During your induction you’ll find out what to expect on your course and meet the key people in your Faculty. You’ll learn about student life and there’ll be opportunities for you to get to know the people you'll be studying with.

Save the date

Find your online course induction programme

  1. Check your Joining Email sent by for your course title
  2. Visit the Timetabling web pages and click on Course Induction Welcome Week.
  3. Select your course from the drop down menu, or use the filter field to search for a key word in your course title (don’t worry about selecting Faculty or Department/School) and select the week your course starts.
  4. Once you've selected your course click the View Timetable button.

When it's time for your course induction:

  1. Visit (Canvas works best with Google Chrome)
  2. Log in using your full username (e.g. and ARU password
  3. Click on the 'Your Induction' tile on your Canvas Dashboard

Studying on campus?

If you’re studying on campus, you’re invited to come and meet your lecturers and new classmates at an on-campus faculty day. You’ll have the opportunity to meet staff and other students, collect your student ID card and go on a campus tour.

It’s optional to attend the day, but a great opportunity to start making friends and find your way around campus before your teaching starts. If you would like to attend, booking is essential to maintain social distancing guidelines.

Not sure what faculty you're part of?

ARU is made up of four faculties, each with a unique focus and skill, so whatever course you're studying, you're part of a bigger faculty that provides you with support throughout your studies.

To find your faculty:

  1. Go to e:Vision
  2. Click on the 'My Profile' tile
  3. Click on the 'Your Course Details' tile.
