The StoryLab symposium was designed to trigger cross-disciplinary conversations both within the academic and student community and externally through creative storytelling.
The day brought together these communities to exchange new ideas and plant seeds for future collaborative research and practice.
Stories allow us to understand complex issues, develop empathy, establish common ground as well as elicit participation and understanding. Storytelling itself, in whatever form, is a flexible concept with a broad range of applications and no universal standard for implementation. A narrative can create a platform for communication, discussion, analysis and innovation.
This one-day event consisted of five sessions dedicated to different fields of inquiry. The sessions included presentations by invited speakers, followed by the examination, discussion and showcasing of completed or in-process research and practice.
