High-performance basketball
Basketball is one of several high-performance sports at Anglia Ruskin University, with talented players having access to high level competition: we have teams in both National League and BUCS.
Our Head Coach, Matthew Harber, expertly leads the training programme which allows both teams and individuals to develop their skills.
Basketball players train on court twice a week in a brand new sports hall, ten minutes' walk from campus. Group strength and conditioning sessions are also available. Athletes can play or train five out of seven days of the week.
Athletes also (when selected by the coach) get:
- free sports club membership
- free gym access
- access to sports therapists to help with rehabilitation and recovery from injury
- sports performance talks.
Exceptional athletes may also be eligible for an ARU Sport Scholarship.
