The 2020-21 women's basketball roster is set for a fresh look, as a number of the club's most loyal and successful players depart.
Notable departures include veteran players Kasia Neininger, Barbara Gonzalez Palacios, Ilaria Zaffaroni, Martina Sechi; ARU alumni Madeline Homoly, Sofia Koutsourelaki, Nadege Talva; and former team captain Marianna Maddaloni.
ARU Basketball programme lead, Matthew Harber, commented:
"We are sad to have lost this cohort of talented players for the upcoming season, but we will forever be grateful for the commitment and sacrifices they have all made to help shape the recent history of our club. Each and every one of these players has a special place in our memories – on and off the court – and have left the jersey in a better condition than when they first wore it. For that reason, we can only be happy."
Team ARU and ARU Basketball would like to extend our gratitude for the players' hard-work and success they have relentlessly delivered. We wish all of our departing players the very best for their future endeavours.
Further announcements on the 2020-21 roster are due later this week as Coach Jacob Lloyd and the team continue their preparations ahead of their opening WNBL Division One game on Saturday 24 October, when they take on the City of London Academy Southwark Pride.
