Following the decision to withdraw our women's basketball team from national league competition for the remainder of the 2020-21 season; we have agreed for our WNBL Division One captain, Katrin Hulme, to transfer to WBBL side, Sevenoaks Suns, for the remainder of the 2021-22 season.

Sevenoaks Suns have been the dominant force in the UK's top-flight women's basketball league; having won the WBBL Championship in 2017-18 and 2018-19, WBBL Play-Off title in2017, 2018 and 2019 , WBBL Trophy in 2017 and the WBBL Cup in 2020. Head Coach of the Suns Len Busch commented, "We're excited to have Katrin joining Suns. She’s been playing at a high level for quite some time. I remember her playing for Northumbria and causing us a lot of problems. She a solid, smart player who will help us in the 3/4 position. I'm grateful for ARU Basketball’s support in making this happen."

Head of our basketball programme Matthew Harber said, "The 2020-21 season has been a difficult year for us to navigate as a programme, but we have endeavoured to put our players' needs first throughout this whole process. Kat has been presented with a great opportunity to join a top-flight club for the remainder of this season and I know she is motivated to keep playing and developing herself. She is a terrific ambassador for everything we stand for here at ARU Basketball and we all wish her and the Suns organisation the best for these closing months."

The 2018 and 2019 WNBL Division One Play-Off Final MVP has been a core member of the ARU Basketball programme since joining in 2017, and was made team captain by Head Coach Jacob Lloyd at the start of this season. The veteran forward is ready for the challenge and said, "I’m really excited for this opportunity to join the Suns and play with and learn from some of the best players in the UK. Training this week has been great and everyone has been really welcoming so I’m looking forward to what the rest of the season has to offer!"

Anglia Ruskin University will retain their position within the WNBL Division One Basketball England competition for the 2021-22 season and continue to plan for their return to the court in the near future.
