ARU Basketball Coach Jacob Lloyd has shown confidence in Maria Fernanda Amojo, Izabel Halasz and Tanicha Rosa Soares, who will join the WNBL Division One roster this season.
Hungarian born shooting guard Halasz (pictured) moves into her final year as an ARU student, whilst Portuguese guards Amojo and Rosa Soares begin their second year in their undergraduate studies.
Halasz stated: "I'm ready for the new season with our new team and challenges." The Hungarian featured in nine of the Rhino's games last season and averaged 3.3 points per game.
Portuguese duo Amojo and Rosa Soares will look to build on their recent progress, with Amojo commenting: “Joining the WNBL team this season for me means sacrifice and persistence turning into unity and victory as a team. I believe that without sacrifice there is no victory."
Head Coach Jacob Lloyd commented: "We also keep Iza and Tanicha who offer our team a great deal in terms of ability and personality. The shooting threat of Iza, and the tenacity of Tanicha is something that we will need to draw upon throughout the year. We also add another young talent in Fernanda Amojo who’s potential for growth is vast. I can see her growing significantly into her role over the course of the season."
