ARU Basketball is delighted to announce the return of Katrin Hulme and Jazmin Gyulai, two players who have been instrumental in the team's success since the 2017-18 season.
Katrin Hulme is an experienced player, having formerly played at powerhouse basketball universities for the Durham Wildcats and Team Northumbria. She has been a consistent performer for the Rhinos in recent years and was named as the WNBL division one play-off final MVP in both 2018 and 2019.
Hulme is feeling optimistic ahead of the upcoming season, stating: "There’s been a lot of change and it’s a new look team this year but I wasn’t quite ready to stop and am so glad I came back. There’s a really positive atmosphere and everyone is gelling well!"
Hungarian guard Jazmin Gyulai will also be a key player for the ARU team this season and has demonstrated her ability to score at will during her opening few seasons for the team. Gyulai is looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead and commented: "It's a new season, new circumstances, but we have the same passion and same goals!"
Head Coach Jacob Lloyd is pleased to have retained the services of both the returners and said: "Kat and Jazmin are mainstay returners within the ARU programme this year, having both been with the programme for several years now. They will both be so important in establishing the culture of our team and I’m sure both will be key to our successes this year."
