ARU Basketball's WNBL division one side will return to league play this weekend following a four-week hiatus from competition during the national lockdown. They take on Team Solent Kestrels on Saturday 5 December at 15:30.
The Kestrels come into this game in fourth position with a 3-2 record, having overcome a strong Nottingham Trent University side 75-66 last weekend. The south coast team have had consistent fire power from perimeter duo, Faye Endean and Krisztina Velkey, who will undoubtedly be a priority for Coach Jacob Lloyd and his side's defence.
This will be the second game the Rhinos have played this season, so Coach Lloyd is eager to see his team back on the floor.
"After an extensive period off, it's good to be back on the court again. We've been provided with the unique opportunity to check-out the landscape of the league and to identify the strengths of opposition from afar."
He went on to comment on Coach CJ Lee's Kestrels team: "I truly believe that Solent will be a threat for any opponent this upcoming season. They have a good balance of scorers and can cause problems from all areas on the court. We will have to be at our best to get a result, and we're looking forward to the challenge."
