Placements and internships

Construction Management student

We believe in equipping you with the skills, knowledge and experience that make you highly desirable to employers.

Many of our undergraduate courses offer you the opportunity to take a placement between years 2 and 3 of your degree course, and we now offer a placement on our MSc Computer Science course after your second trimester.

Placements aren’t guaranteed as they rely heavily on the market availability and on your own enthusiasm and commitment. Like any job application, applying for a placement will require a CV, covering letter, interview(s), and for the more competitive placements, assessment centres to ensure that the placement will provide a good fit for both you and the employer.

Placements give you experience of seeking and securing a job, and working in an industry relevant to your course. You'll gain invaluable experience, knowledge and contacts, along with skills that you can apply to the final year of your course and your future career.

Our students have previously undertaken placements with companies including Acteon, ARM, Citrix, GlaxoSmithKline, Grosvenor Technology, Ringway Jacobs, Sea Life London Aquarium, Social Promote and the University of Cambridge.
