Guidance on the Management of Chronic Pain in Older People

Boxes of medications - one box is being held by a medical professional

The Positive Ageing Research Institute (PARI), together with colleagues from ARU and other institutions, has been involved in the development of UK National Guidelines for the management of chronic pain among older people.

These guidelines review the epidemiology and management of pain in older people via a systematic literature review of published research. The aim of these guidelines is to inform health professionals working with older people across all care settings on best practice for the management of pain in this population. These guidelines are currently under review.
