On 17 May 2017, Sara Thornton shared her insights into the Specialist Capabilities Programme led by National Police Chief’s Council (NPCC).
The programme involves a major review of police specialist capabilities being conducted with representatives from the Association of Police and Crime Commissioners (APCC), Chief Constables, the Home Office and the National Crime Agency.
Her lecture invoked key issues for discussion like collaboration between, and amalgamation of, forces, and whether local policing is being diluted too far.
