Justin's area of expertise is in mental health and learning disabilities nursing. His specific area is in care of people with profound disabilities and complex needs.



Justin's background is in mental health and learning disabilities nursing and he has worked in both health and social care settings as a senior nurse in a Health Trust and as a senior assistant in a social care environment.

For the past 21 years, he has been a senior lecturer at Anglia Ruskin University facilitating students on the learning disabilities and mental health pathways specifically on the degree and diploma programmes. He has also been a programme, pathway and course leader at various times, helping with curriculum development and implementation of programmes.

Research interests

Justin is currently undertaking a Professional Doctorate programme researching on the knowledge and skills of secondary school teachers regarding the mental health needs of their pupils.


Justin is currently teaching and facilitating nursing students on the mental health degree pathway.
