Student visa applications

As an international student, you will need permission to study in the UK. If you're from the EU, Switzerland, Norway, Iceland or Liechtenstein and you started living in the UK on or before 31 December 2020, you can apply to the EU Settlement Scheme.

If you're coming to the UK from 1 January 2021, you will need to apply for a visa to study in the UK.

The Student Route is for adult students who want to come to or remain in the UK for their post-16 education for more than six months.

These pages aim to identify some of the things you need to think about in preparation for making a student visa application. View full guidance from the UK Home Office.
