Biomechanics Lab

Biomechanics is the analysis of structure and function of living organisms, using knowledge and techniques from science and engineering. ARU's Biomechanics Lab is equipped with a wide range of equipment allowing analysis of:

  • Neuromuscular function
  • Vascular function
  • Respiratory function
  • Motion analysis
  • Force and pressure during movement

The biomechanics team have interests in both pre-clinical and clinical research. In addition to use by academics, the lab hosts projects by both undergraduate and postgraduate students, including funded internships.

The equipment available can be configured to address different research and/or consultancy questions. The team welcome queries about specific applications or requirements.
