The Rhythmic Breath is a music therapy group for anyone affected by physical or mental illness. Originally innovated during lockdown as a group to support those with long Covid, this session has gone from strength to strength and now supports people with a wide range of different physical and mental health conditions.

The group is relaxed, and gives space for the people to choose and have a say in what they need from the workshop. It uses various activities within sessions, including breathwork, singing, improvisation, rhythm work, movement, song writing and music making.

"After the sessions I feel calmer, happier inside and I have a sense of release and peace. During the following week I feel as if I am 'flowing' more, in and within my own life. I am feeling more confident and outward looking. I have tried a couple of new activities in which I met new people, since attending the music therapy Rhythmic Breath sessions. It's difficult to explain or express in words but maybe it is that it helps me to be more in touch with myself and therefore enables me to be more of who I am." All our sessions are client focused and run by fully qualified, HCPC-registered music therapists.

There are lots of other exciting events happening during the Chelmsford Science Festival, which runs from 12-18 October 2022. Take a look at the full programme and book your free tickets today.
