Join Larina and Issy from The Outhouse who will offer an overview of their experience in working with transgender and non-binary adults and young people, with a focus on supporting the mental health of members of the LGBTQ+ community and their families from a person-centred perspective.

Providing a brief overview of terminology, they will focus on the phenomenological experience of self and of self-discovery as facilitated by the core conditions of Rogerian theory.

They will talk about ‘coming out’ and share experiences from members of the community and their families to offer an understanding of the layers of personal experience and how, in a person-centred perspective, every person strives for and thrives with acceptance.

This event is hosted in partnership with the Ideas Hub.

There are lots of other exciting events happening during the Chelmsford Science Festival, which runs from 12-18 October 2022. Take a look at the full programme and book your free tickets today.
