Ukemi, a Japanese word meaning ‘safe falling,’ is a key principle in Judo.

Join ARU Sports and Exercise scientist and certified Judo coach Katrina McDonald for a fun-filled, practical workshop about falling safely.

Building on the teachings this modern Martial Art, Katrina’s research has important implications for the field of positive aging.

As we age, a simple stumble can easily become a dangerous disaster, so learning how to break your fall is a critical skill for a healthy life.

Suitable for any ability, all participants will need to remove their shoes and socks to take part in the workshop.
