Creating our Future is a series of interactive workshops put on by ARU that will ask participants to discuss, debate and deliberate on key issues of future concern, and then deliver a set of recommendations to an industry or political representative.

In the style of a Citizens’ Assembly, these workshops are fully interactive, and aim to put ideals of deliberative democracy into action. Participants will be advised by leading experts from academia and industry and will come away from the sessions with a sense of the kind of change that is both necessary and possible for the challenges we will face in the post-covid world.

This event is part of the Being Human festival, the UK’s only national festival of the humanities, taking place 11–20 November 2021. Led by the School of Advanced Study, University of London, in partnership with the Arts and Humanities Research Council and the British Academy.
