Established in 1935, the Institute of Export (IOE) is the professional membership body representing and supporting the interests of everyone involved in importing, exporting and international trade. Offering a unique range of individual and business membership benefits and a world renowned suite of qualifications and training, the Institute is the leading authority in best practice and competence for businesses trading globally.
To partner with the IOE to create the first online degree programme for export and international trade professionals to bridge the gap between their NVQ qualification range and our University degree courses – offering significant benefits to both employees and employers.
We launched our two year Foundation Degree in Professional Practice of International, aimed at those looking to develop their career in import, export and trade, and pursue further academic qualifications at undergraduate and postgraduate level.
Designed to fit around full-time employment, the course underpins current industry knowledge with academic theory and skills and is taught through a mixture of online tutorials and work-based assignments.
"In a rapidly changing global economy, we face a skills crisis as businesses find staff increasingly lacking the practical knowledge needed in international trade. Degree courses have become overly academic, and the foundation degree is designed to equip graduates for real-life situations, with assignments and tutors focused on the situations faced every day in the workplace.
"The course enables flexible learning at a pace appropriate to each individual, while ensuring graduates are equipped to tackle the challenges of modern business and equally ensure their careers develop as fully as possible."
Lesley Batchelor, Director General of the Institute of Export
