Hello. My name is Dr Simon Pratt-Adams, Principal Lecturer in Academic Development. I’m very excited about my current role because I have both an institutional and faculty remit as I work in the Faculty of Health, Education, Medicine and Social Care (FHEMS) and Anglia Learning & Teaching.
At heart, I’m a teacher and had a career in urban primary schools before I entered Higher Education. I’ve always had a passion for teaching and learning across all sectors of education. I enjoy working with academic staff in developing their learning and teaching practices but also making the connection between what happens in the classroom with applied pedagogic research. I’m also interested in doctoral education and strategies for developing this area of academic study.
As well as working at universities in London and ARU, I’ve also spent time as a lecturer at State University of New York and am currently visiting professor at a university in Shanghai.
