Senior Lecturer interviewed by major US publication
Senior Lecturer in English Literature Jeannette Baxter recently acted as academic advisor for a Wall Street Journal feature article on the film adaptation of J.G. Ballard's High Rise.
The article discusses the difficulties of adapting a novel often described as 'unfilmable' to the screen - a task that has been attempted and failed numerous times before.
Jeannette, who was also interviewed for the article, is the author of a number of publications on J. G. Ballard, including her book J. G. Ballard’s Surrealist Imagination: Spectacular Authorship. Earlier this year, she gave a talk at a symposium on Ballard at the British Library, which also touched upon the release of the film.
