In May 2017, our first year BA (Hons) Performing Arts students staged a performance of Kontakthof, a German dance theatre piece by legendary dance practitioner Pina Bausch.

The performances took place on campus at our Mumford Theatre and featured an exciting investigation of numerous performance aspects, including theatrical narrative through physical movement and using the choreographic body as a vehicle to represent socio-political ideas. Kontakthof was a wonderful experience for our students, who were able to explore some of the most stimulating ideas of the contemporary performing arts.

Kontakthof was an assessed, non-public performance, and part of the Performing Arts course’s first year of study.
