Deborah is a PhD student with the Centre for Innovation in Higher Education and the Faculty of Health, Social Care & Education.

Deborah has worked in healthcare for nearly ten years as a health care assistant and then as a qualified nurse. In 2013, she qualified as a mental health nurse and started working in in-patient acute units. She has mainly worked with elderly dementia patients and then went to work with learning disabilities patients in 2016. She continued her studies since 2015 when she decided to undertake a Bachelor of Science and Masters degrees in Public Health. She is currently doing her PhD in the area of learning gain, specifically in active learning and employability.
