Maintenance Supervisor, Grade 5

We have two permanent Maintenance Supervisor positions to be filled in Cambridge and Chelmsford with a requirement to travel between sites. This is a senior level role with responsibility for a team of maintenance operative staff to carry out all aspects of the planned and reactive maintenance on the Building Management System, pumps, fans, pipework, associated controls, PLC's, boiler plant, refrigerant systems, instrumentation and electrical switchgear.

You will participate in the inspection, service, fault diagnosis, testing, repair, maintenance and compliance checks of ARU mechanical & electrical equipment across our campuses and lead on the install and commission of new equipment.

You will provide specialist technical advice demonstrating up to date technical knowledge and best practice to contribute towards strategic operational maintenance plans & task specifications and complete operational reports to optimise the efficiency of the plant and equipment.

Maintenance Technician, Grade 5

We have one Maintenance Technician (Mechanical and Electrical multi-skilled) to be filled in Cambridge. This role forms a major component in the efficient operation of our specialist plant and equipment at this campus. As part of a small team, you will carry out all aspects of the planned and reactive maintenance on the Building Management System, pumps, fans, pipework, associated controls, PLC's, boiler plant, refrigerant systems, instrumentation and electrical switchgear.

You will be responsible for carrying out inspection and site testing of installations, maintenance and fault finding complying with current standard regulations. With your specialist technical knowledge, you will guide best practice and contribute towards strategic operational maintenance plans and task specifications whilst supporting the training of colleagues and technical trainees.

Maintenance Craftsperson, Grade 4

We have three permanent Maintenance Craftsperson (Mechanical and Electrical multi-skilled) positions two to be filled in Chelmsford and one in Cambridge. You will join a small team with responsibility to inspect, maintain, fault diagnose, test, install, modify and repair Electrical and Mechanical equipment including planned and reactive maintenance on the Building Management System, pumps, fans, pipework, associated controls, PLC's, boiler plant, refrigerant systems, instrumentation and electrical switchgear.

You will be responsible for inspections and maintenance to ensure our statutory and contractual obligations are met and carry out document compliance checks. You will contribute towards our strategic operational maintenance plans & task specifications and complete operational reports including faults or failings that could affect the optimum efficiency of the sites and equipment.

Maintenance Operative, Grade 3

We have two permanent Maintenance Operative positions to be filled in Chelmsford. You will join a small team working closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to carry out maintenance and small works relating to the built environment including but not limited to painting, building and carpentry works. You will also assist with the preparation of cost estimates and ensure health & safety practices are adhered to.

You will ensure that all documentation for works undertaken is kept up to date and readily available using our online systems, which training will be provided. You will liaise and collaborate with staff and students across the University to ensure an effective customer service is delivered and maintained when undertaking the work.
