Julia is an alumna of Anglia Ruskin University and returned to lecture at the university in 2015. She is now a senior lecturer and course leader in Education.
Julia’s research area is autism and she is currently studying for her PhD in this field. Julia combines her academic knowledge with her lived experience as the mother of an adult son with Asperger’s Syndrome to inform her work in the autism arena. This work encompasses not only research, but also influences policy development at local and national government level and supports local families through her role as a trustee of an autism charity based in Harlow, Essex.
